What is hubris as an adjective?

2mon 21d ago by lemmy.world/u/j4k3 in nostupidquestions

Hubristic sucks IMO, and arrogance is somehow different in my mind. To me, hubris is unintended, while arrogance is known to the individual who is unyielding. Maybe you have a different definition. Got any good words tho?

"Hubristic", but "Cocksure" is more fun to say.

"Hubrussy"

Hubris is un-earned arrogance. Or arrogance from ignorance.
Some people are appropriately arrogant. It's annoying as fuck, but you can't argue with their results.

Maybe your talking about Rick Sanchez, Sherlock Holmes, or James Bond because the asshole genius is a trope in media, not real life.

In real life they're just assholes.

Your saying they aren't arrogant assholes?

Prideful?

Hubristic

Surquedrous? It's the adjective form of Surquedry, which is overweening pride or arrogance.

Hubrish. Hubric. Hube.

Blind confidence?

That's also a noun

then blindly confident
