Is Funkwhale piracy?

I don't know much about the platform, but I've browsed for a bit and I see people uploading other artists music, unofficially I assume, which means they are technically file sharing/piracy?
There's no revenue stream to the artists on Funkwhale right? Is it donation based?
If someone uploads music they don't have copyright to then yes, in most places that will be piracy
@SuperLallarn if the content is open source it's not piracy. You can report content to the administrators. You can also post your own tracks has an artist or podcast creator
