Is there an amateur competition for autonomous robots?

Not the big expensive ones for the 100.000€ 2m tall biped robots built by whole teams, but more a sportsmanship class, like small costs, just drive through a city for example?

Fasinating machines. I think Veritasium made a video about them.

It's a fun watch if you are at all interested in robots. He goes through the evolution of the competition and some of the tech breakthroughs that have impacted it.

It's the entry level competition from the same people who make the competition with those 2m tall robots.

I participated in their mid level one (18 inch / half meter cube size, metal parts) when I was in high school.

Nationals is going on in Houston this weekend. A local robotics club here flew there on Spirit.

They're supposed to fly back to O'Hare tomorrow. Kind of wonder what they're going to do.

Is BotBall still a thing? They had that (waaay) back when I was in high school, at least.

probably

Probably not any big professional ones, but there tends to be regional educational focused competitions in this style
