Threadiverse and microblog, or topicverse and userverse?

Threadiverse and microblog, or topicverse and userverse?

#fediverse

Something that was bothering me is how comments in microblog platforms usually split and are sorted in the same way as most threadiverse platforms do, just with a smaller scope, but still functionally the same. But also, some threadiverse platforms sort comments rather linearly, similar to board forums.

While talking to someone a while back in a conversation more or less in this topic and that I think I accidentally deleted (oopsie daisy), something that came to mind that I said is how in the "threadiverse" you follow topics, while in "microblogs" you follow mainly users, with tags being better at saying "this user is talking about this topic".

So a few minutes ago, a thought came to mind, wouldn't "topicverse" and "userverse" be closer to the scope of their referred engines/instances?

Or did I get the idea wrong and went on some random tangent?

Yes. With communities user are invited to open discussion on a topic related to the community.

In the userverse, for me, it is a livechat where people talk about a broad topic as knitting and politic. :)

Topicverse is nice
