Blackmagic have a new handle and grip coming out which can camcorderify a PYXIS. I love the idea of being able to do documentary work with a camera that looks smaller and unintrusive, but can be quickly turned into a really nice cinema camera.
The problem is, it has a zoom control but there doesn't seem to be any L Mount power zooms available, and even if there were, what is the point of a power zoom without auto-focus (unless it's parfocal).

I'm wondering:

• Can the zoom control be changed to control focus? That would be infinitely more useful. I use an app to control the focus on a blackmagic camera and it works really well, even over bluetooth. Definitely well enough for "camcorder" style shooting.
• Will the zoom rockers work with 3rd party focus motors?

(Seeing as this community is brand new I'll comment away myself if I realize anything)
