Vieux Carré

This one’s from death and co. It looked just right for my mood; all liquor, rye base, some sweetness, and indeed it was perfect. I drank it and made another straightaway!
- 1 oz Rittenhouse 100-Proof Rye
- 1 oz Pierre Ferrand Ambre cognac
- 1 oz Carpano Antica sweet vermouth
- 1 tsp Bénédictine
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
- 1 dash Death & Co Peychaud's bitters
- 1 lemon twist
Stir with ice, and garnish with a lemon twist.
Great looking glass!
Thanks! It’s from riedel: https://www.riedel.com/en-us/shop/drink-specific-glassware/rocks-glass-641700002
Slightly on the big side, but great weight and quality.
I know Riedel well, just yesterday I handed my friend a wine decanter from them for his birthday. Nice stuff!
I love this cocktail so much! One of my all time favorites.
This is one of those drinks you have to either really love or do in a group. You need the good stuff to make it right. I usually used remy martin vsop just because thats what i had behind my bar. I loved making this one for guests because it was simple enough but required so many things that it was kind of a spectacle to make it in front of them.
