Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should

This is how the people in Nuremberg eat Bratwurst.
Once again German science proves to be the best in the world.

Once again?
What else are you referring to?

wow! windows you cannot clean! wunderbar!
They tilt vertically as well as horizontally. Cleaning them is much easier than North American sliding windows.
I think they're referencing jojo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2ElkIqJXGE
Though, the jojo character is a nazi and does a nazi salute in the moment.
Hamburger obviously
Don’t get a hamburger in Hamburg, they’re terrible. The fish sandwiches are good though.
Boah jetzt drei im Weckla
Pardon my Spanish but how do you call that in German? I know english has no word for "stuff between normal breads", that's not a sandwich. In Spain we call it "bocata". Do you have a distinct word to differentiate from a sandwich?
It's a pet peeve of mine, alongside calling everything "salami".
In English they are called Sub from "submarine sandwich", based on traditional Italian style sandwiches that are the same as Bocatas. That is also where Subway restaurants get their name.
But yes, the issue is that nor in Germany nor England have the "normal" bread, which they call Baguette.
The closest thing I would say for Germans is a Brötchen, which in Spanish would be like a panecillo. What you are seeing in the picture is a Bratwurst Brötchen

Spoken like a true salami.

Test results are in: you are HIV salami.
What I'd give for a single loaf of German bread
What condiments are on it? Relish?
Relishes aren't really a thing in Germany, so, traditionally you only put mustard on a Bratwurstbrötchen. However, the sausage itself already contains herbs and spices, like a copious amount of marjoram, some pepper, mace, allspice, and sometimes wild garlic, caraway, or ginger.
Ah, the classic "two cocks in the same canoe". A workaround is using bigger sausages.
You can also slice the sausage halfway down the middle for more sauce area.
slice the sausage halfway down the middle

Frikandel has entered the chat...
I feel doxed
This isn't a shitpost, it's just a good idea.
Seriously, my first thought was, "Why isn't this a thing?"
Something about physics or geometry. Because theyre cylindrical when you grip the bun sideways you get 2 saucy weiners slapping you in the face.
Which I appreciate sounds like a good time to some, but its hot and messy. Which I appreciate sounds like a good time again.
Now I'm hungry horny
Stay the hell away from MY fridge! I have butter in there, you freak!
I cant believe its not butter it didnt stop him
You could add a third on top for more efficient stacking?
You might need a trifold bun to securely handle a hotdog pyramid
So you would say the second weiner makes it... sloppy?
But first, lets top it with cheese sauce, and bacon strips.

Plant dog

yeah but it's flat and you have to assemble it with that 5mm key.
No we don’t do that here we just celebrate beep/deep/whatever alt it is now using AI to remove attribution.
Look, if you want to have 2 weiners stuffed in your mouth at the same time, you are free to do so in the privacy of your own home.
But don't make me watch that when I'm at the sportsball game, it makes me jealous.
I want them in my buns.
In my town there's a place that sells something called "Pregnant Dog": A cheese stick inside a wiener inside a red sausage all wraped in bacon

That looks glorious. I don't know if my arteries would forgive me.

She wouldn't want to be a hypocrite 🤷🏻

Stack them vertically. Use normal bun. Problem solved.
Stack them vertically. Use normal bun
The top one would roll off
Use a taller bun. I also am on team under-over. While the double barrel approach is innovative, it sacrifices on handling. Harder to properly grasp. An under-over config allows tall bun sides that can support a tactical grip with one or both hands without getting saucy fingers.
perhaps you could use a more circular bun, then you could also stack more toppings. maybe you could even make the bun flatter and made of corn.
Not if they’re sticky.
Would have to be VERY sticky, though.
We're talking "Animal from The Muppets on ribs night" levels
Or stick one dog in either end of the digestive tract. Problem solved.
Sorry, IKEA already do a double hot dog.
Highly standard in Norwegian gas stations too
Do you have to put both dogs in your mouth at once?
And you can't chew.
https://www.geneandjudes.com/menu/

Is that a whole ass pickle?! love it
No that's a sport pepper. Gene and Jude's doesn't do pickles, but other Chicago dogs use an entire spear.
I do not think this is a whole ass-pickle.
hell yeah
I love that place. Went there with my uncle and ordered this exact thing.
This is one of Swedens national dishes, and I'm both surprised and disappointed no one seems to have mentioned that yet and that it isn't among the top comments. It's called a "Hel special" (whole special) and it's literally just this with balls of mashed potatoes and other toppings. Here are some photos:

The most classic is with the chocolate milk drink "Pucko" (slang word for idiot):

for a moment I was afraid that was ice cream.
taters? actually would eat this
Should be this and not just plain hotdogs at the local IKEA.
Are the mashed potatoes buttered, or plain?
This looks structurally unsound.
Who ordered the Frotdog?
Everyone knows that foods are extended along the axis with a circular cross section.
i.e., burgers stack higher, hot dogs grow longer.
Mind slightly blown
Been like that for ages in Ukraine
I've eaten a double hotdog a couple times. The bun wasn't twice as wide but twice as long. So it had to be thicker so the meat to bun ratio was actually smaller. It's the first thing you eat hung over at a music festival so who cares.

just wait till you hear about tunnbrödsrulle
Nooo don't let them touch!! 😱
It's not gay if you are going to put them in your mouth.
Is this what "I double-dog dare you" refers to?
Now do it with a fried chicken bun!
The best way to do a hot dog is "open face," where you cut it down the length, but not enough to fully separate into two halves. Then spread and press the open insides against the pan before flipping to the other side. It's like butterflying a chicken. More surface area = more maillard reaction/yummy brown bits.
Getting hot dog and bun manufacturers on the same page will be hard, they already have can't agree on on the amount per pack lol
so much fun!
I was going to say, like, you could have a much better time of things if you used a thinner bun for a single hot dog rather than slapping two hot dogs on a regular bun
OMFG I REMEMBER THESE. My dad was obsessed with them and was pissed they discontinued them. At least, I am pretty sure they aren't around anymore.
But of course they agree: you buy bread and sausages, you end up with leftover bread, so you have to buy more sausages, then you end up with leftover sausages—now you're stuck in an endless cycle. It's diabolical.
We got frotting hot dogs before GTA6
The DockHog
Gordon would be proud

all i see is a picture of your mom. oooooohhh gottem.
hotdogordita?
Alternate idea: make the bun twice as long so you can wield the hot dogs like darth maul's lightsaber. Also easier to eat if you cant dislocate your jaw.
Double glizzy action

The DP dog
That’s a lot of processed meat. Not to mention the buns are nearly as bad as cake.
What’s your point? People literally drink poison and smoke it. God forbid I want to die happily with 2 sausages in my mouth
Fun at parties!
I’m a blast at parties because I like having sausages in my mouth. I thought I mentioned that already
I like this version better than the stacked version. Definitely way more surface real estate for condiments and additions.
Double dogs are actually a coming thing.
The technology exists. Simply bias cut the two dogs and pile them into a larger roll. It is especially advantageous when you sauté the pieces for extra browning.
What kind of loser hasn't double-dogged it before?
But they should
Do it with those Spam hot dogs for extra regret.
2 dogs 1 bun
I think I saw a video of a girl putting two hotdogs in her bun once
DVDA?
I bought a pack of footlong hot dogs and a pack of footlong buns. 8 hot dogs but only 6 buns. So I have no other option but to have a couple double footlongs.
Found Sasha Grey's alt
Could make some awesome hotdog octopus.
I hadn’t thought of that. Extra long tentacles.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dv26ynEYb3s
This was the first thing that came to my mind
it does look right though... and enjoyable!
The Zips in a town I lived in had double and triple dogs, as well as adding one or two to their array of single to triple burgers. Trick is to cut the dogs in half longways then you can shove all manner and amounts of meat between various buns
Restaurant across from my work has these.
I do this everytime there is a bbq event. A bit of finessing has to be done any way.
Be the change you want to see in the world
This would be the biggest development In the world of hot dogs since the twinkie weiner sandwich.

My standard dog is a double dog, especially if I have Costco buns, but just a pack of every day dawgs.
DOUBLE PENETRATION!

i used to go to a food truck that had these it was pretty good
The buns are the best part. More meat ratio is a failed concept.
DP doggy?
Double dogs exist. you serve them vertically in a sub roll. A place near my old house used to do double footlong on a sub roli, mustard, onion, chilli-cheese.
The real answer is because one hot dog contains 100% of your daily sodium and also it's just so very bad for you in many other ways.
Costco is the only hot dog currently on the market with the correct meat-to-bread ratio, I am prepared to fight to the death
