What's a phrase that gets you through rough days?

Fuck it.

The universe must really love me. I know, because it's always trying to fuck me.

Fuck it dude, let's go bowling.

Don't be fatuous, Jeffrey.

Keep moving forward.

How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard

You only need to endure today once.

"Things are always alright in the end. So if things aren't alright, then it must not be the end." - My Brother

"If you are going through hell, keep going."

There's people dying all over the world right now for bullshit reasons.

or

Its all bullshit anyways.

"The horrors persist, but so do I."

"Don't let anyone ruin your day. It's your day! Ruin it yourself!"

The beautiful* thing is: the day will end and begin again regardless of my opinion on the matter.

Fuck this shit

Day by day - focus on now.

No feeling is final, tomorrow will come and you will be there. The way you feel today defines where you are, not who you are.

When I'm anxious about an upcoming thing I like to tell myself that it likely won't be as bad as I expect it to be. Tends to hold true.

Very true most of the time!

“Life’s a B and then you D” but literally like that so it rhymes and sounds silly rather than dire. Then my mind wanders to try making a new line to rhyme. Whimsy rhyme time as temporary distraction.

The lyrics to Devin the Dude's 'Anythang' always play in my mind when I'm having a rough day.

Anythang is plenty man
an is better than nan, nothin at all
Anythang is plenty man
Anythang is plenty man
an is better than nan, nothin at all
Anythang is plenty man

You ain't the only one who got problems
You ain't the only one who knows pain
Get up off your ass and just solve em
You still got a chance to try to change
try this shit again

Really ain't no need for self-pity
Crying when there's no one else around
Life I know sometimes can get shitty
Even shittier when sleeping on the ground
No need to complain

Anythang is plenty man
I hope you realize
that everybody's gonna need somebody sometime

I am attempting to be less negative in general.

When I catch myself thinking that I "hate" some experience I'm going through, I try to change the thought to: "I would love for this to be easier"

That phrase is really helpful! I’m gonna teach it to my kids (and myself). Thanks

Originally from this video https://youtu.be/O1MSPCXMn0Yand yes I've gone through all 10h of it multiple times during depression.

This one captures the essence of it rather well too https://youtu.be/R1IaMSz8AFk

I just really like the "Beatings shall continue until morale improves" approach for pushing myself, rather effective

So inspiring.

Nice one, that got a chuckle out of me.

I tend to write a lot, and I develop ways to say the same thing in multiple ways, which creates new pathways in your head to help the healing and reconditioning process. It's similar to the effect of learning a new language has on neuroplasticity. I highly recommend investing a lot of consistent time in journaling in a freewriting style. Whatever pops to head, put down, and this has improved my skill in writing and giving myself therapy. You'll cycle through similar thoughts and find new paths to take old thoughts by being mindful.

"Love means always going the extra distance while being kind to the self."

When it is time for the cream to rise to the top, all of the powers of the universe combined cannot stop it.
