I heard a commercial today that I thought was a joke, it's a Mormon owned radio station that "hates libruls" called Seattle Red

I'm not trying to advertise it, but make fun of it. I really thought it was a skit. I looked into who owns it:

“Seattle Red is more than a name — it’s a mission,” said Bonneville Seattle SVP/Market Manager Cathy Cangiano. “We’re delivering powerful conservative voices, designed to challenge, inform, and inspire people every day.”

Seattle Red KTTH (770 AM) is a commercial radio station in Seattle, Washington. It is owned by Salt Lake City–based Bonneville International, a broadcasting company owned by of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It airs a conservative talk radio format. The station's transmitter site is on Vashon Island, while its studios are located in Seattle's Eastlake district.

By day, Seattle Red (KTTH 770 AM) broadcasts with 50,000 watts, the maximum for commercial AM stations.[2] Because 770 AM is a clear-channel frequency, KTTH must reduce power to 5,000 watts at night to avoid interfering with other stations. Programming is also heard on FM translator K233BU at 94.5 MHz.[3]

They hate living in a salty desert and are trying to take over Seattle for their new Mormon mega-ghetto.

I'm glad to report it's showing a downward trend in it's meager ratings. According to Nielsen, it went from a 1.8 quarter hour rating in March down to a 1.5 in April. That basically means that on average the station reaches approximately 1.5% of the entire 6+ radio listening population in Seattle in any average quarter hour based on M-Su 6a-12m listening. For comparison, the top station in the market KUOW (public radio) reached 10.6 in April. (Pop is 4.1m)

That is great news. It's so obvious that it's cringe.

It's still entirely too high.

Mormonism is as wackadoodle as Scientology, but they're really nice people.

Um, no. The whole mission of the church is to convert everyone. Their doctrine is sexually oppressive, misogynistic, and racist.

Their assets are a tightly controlled secret and they spend lots of money and influence to make sure it doesn't come to light.

They push for restrictions on abortion, LGBT rights, and women's rights.

The state legislature of Utah (80% Mormon in a state with less than 50% of the population belonging to to church) passed legislation banning trans athletes from high school sports.

Do you know how many trans high school athletes there were in Utah when they passed that? Five. Five kids got targeted by the legislature.

If Mormons were nice, they would have pushed back. They didn't.

Great rant, but "nice" and "good" aren't synonyms

The money changers who setup shop in the temple were nice. The Germans who smiled and reported where Jews were hiding were nice. The whites who thought MLK was too radical and the gays who told Obama that civil unions were enough were nice.

Throwing the first brick at pride was good, not nice. Calmly braiding a whip to flip over some tables was good, not nice. Flashing your tits to lure Nazis so you could kill them was good, not nice.

Mormons are incredibly nice. They just aren't all the other thing.

I've known quite a few for work, and kind of? It's like living in the 50s when you're around them.
