Slashpage for favs list?

7d 5h ago by programming.dev/u/somegeek in indieweb@programming.dev

Hi. We have slashpages for /top4 which is cool, but I would like to have a page, hosting multiple lists of 4, 10 or maybe 20 items that I like to rank or list.

For example:

  • Movies
  • Books
  • Café and restaurants
  • games

I know I can just create this page for my own website but I just want to see if we have a common slashpage convention for that, or are we interested in adding it?

@somegeek No reason you couldn’t put more than 4 in a /top4. Or do /top. Or a totally new slash page of your design! slashpages.net is but a very unofficial guide on a few known slash pages. It isn’t meant to be the decider on what does or doesn’t count. I have a (very much work in-progress) /top4 page and I’ve already linked to other lists I have that aren’t strictly 4-in-length 🤷‍♂️

Thanks. I thought out a plain text syntax (like todo.txt for example) for creating ranking lists, I'm working on making it good enough and it's formal definition. Then I (we) can work on processors that convert that defined syntax into more advanced and different presentations, while the txt format itself is easily readable and usable by itself, and super simple to create, maintain and share.

I'll post the updates here. Maybe it becomes a common thing!
