I remember watching these taking off and landing in the early 90s and it convinced me that I could never believe someone who tells me that they saw an alien UFO. Because these move in such bizarre ways. They were UFOS and I knew exactly what I was watching

Not sure. The airframe was repaired and flying again by 1998. The cost to produce a brand new F-117 was about $108 million, so the repair of this one was probably "only" a few million.

Being nothing but flat panels and hard angles probably helped.
