Monarchism in Death Stranding?

3d 18h ago by multiverse.soulism.net/u/Grail in casualconversation@piefed.social

I recently started playing Death Stranding! And wow, this is kind of hard to follow. They really let Hideo Kojima do whatever he wants, huh?

Okay so I've gathered that Bridget Strand was the president of America, and mother to Amelie Strand and Sam Strand, now Sam Porter Bridges. And now that Bridget is dead, Bridges wants to make Amelie the president.

And I get that Amelie is a strong leader and a hero to the people, buuuuuuut...

Fuck dynasties. The president should not be the former president's daughter. This is a bad foundation on which to rebuild a country. Old George Washington realised that, he made America pick someone else to succeed him, he didn't want America to have a monarch.

I'm with Sam on this one, fuck Bridges.

Am I misunderstanding the facts? Is there important information that will be revealed later to clear this up and get the player on Bridges' side? Or am I right on the money? Either way I really like this weird bad game, Hideo did a great job.

Death Stranding made me realize I am a really fucking bad person, because I was on the side of the baddies the entire time.

I was like yes, they are assholes, yes they nuked entire cities, but they openly admit they are assholes, they openly admit their crimes, and they just want to be left the fuck alone to live their lives, they don't want to be forced to play the "we must all join together and be one big happy country" bullshit.

Unlike the good guys, they don't hide their manipulation, and they don't play politics or hide their motives. They are very open with what they are doing. They are shitty people and they own it.

And their fashion sense is badass as fuck.

The Homo Demens? Die Hardman mentioned them. They're even bigger assholes than Bridges!
