If money wasn't a factor, how would you spend tomorrow?

1d 18h ago by piefed.blahaj.zone/u/LadyButterfly in wholesome@reddthat.com

id buy a house with a view, something small in the city like 2 bedrooms, put in some nice soundproofing/dampening, a nice big bath i can fully lay down in, some nice shelves for my cats, get some more cats, and a lot more plants. you know just a comfy place to live for myself.

then id be the founding member of a worker coop and work to put an end to capitalism.

I would move to london buy a creepy old building start my own private library and scare the local children.

Or you could learn to play the flute and hide in the mountains playing eerie tunes to scare hikers.

or realisticly I would invest, give to charity, all dat.

if money was never a factor again, i'd prolly retire or change occupation to something that brings me further. Tomorrow i'd spend contemplating what to do next.

Offer my american friend an all cost covered trip to France. That's her dream, but her family is way too poor to afford it.

Do you live in France?

I do. That'd be a way for us to meet in person for the first time after years of talking online.

But even without that I promised her I'll pay for half her trip if she ever come visit France.
Long story short, she struggled with depression when I met her online (I won't give any more details than that to respect her privacy), so I offered that to give her a long term goal to focus on, and it worked wonders. Now she is happily engaged to what seem to be a fine man, and I hope I'll be able to meet them both one day.

We would spend our time being happy and independent once again. Make our life fulfilling and fun and help people wherever we can.

That rhymes

Oh whoops lol, yeah that sometimes happens on accident :P

I enjoyed it

If money was not a factor, I would not be spending (it). 🧐

Buy back the house I was forced to leave a couple of years ago when my family sold it. Long term, I would undo most of the ugly renovations the new owners made. They replaced all the wood and stone with metal, plastic and concrete.

But first, I would relax in my garden or a nice bath, get in contact with old friends and ask if they need anything.

I'm a minor airplane/airport nerd. I REALLY want to fly the Sydney to London Heathrow nonstop on an A380. But there's nothing I want to do IN those cities. Just want the flight. Don't care about the cities.

Giving it away.

OP implied there’s a bank account with infinite money, and now you’ve introduced an infinite money sink. This setup will result in inflation running rampant, and wrecking the entire economy along the way. I guess we’ll just go back to bartering sooner or later.

Work on destabilising the Western governments by investing in local political extremist organisations, paying someone to remove terrorist status from Palestine Action, and giving a fuckton of money to trans and gender non-conforming healthcare charities that won't be influential enough. I'd buy myself majority spots on committees, starting with ones whose decisions control the spending allocation of healthcare in my country, because that allows me to focus charity money into places I choose.

In bed, curing my cold, same as I do today. But I might consider quitting my job once I'm better, and work more on art projects.

Napping with my dog. No more lonely days for her.

Put a couple of ideas into action.

I live in a very aged and old city. A lot of run down very old buildings left to crumble under their own weight. Abandoned houses left behind by families that sent their children away.

I'd just go out and buy all of those, to rebuild and return to the city as affordable housing, something that has been lacking and ignored.

I'd get instant hate, as I'd be more than willing to force the start of works even before permits were issued; that is another problem in this place: political and bureaucratic inertia and indiference.

From that point forward? I don't know. I have enough. I'm trying to put down roots for my family to keep doing well and good after I'm gone.

This kind of question always takes me back to a conversation I had with my grandfather, where he told me that all the money in the world is worth nothing of we don't make use of it for something good.

You could give me a billion euros tomorrow and I wouldn't change as a person. I would change a lot of things around me but not myself.

If given that the money stays with me, I wouldnt change much/at all. Probably just pay more often for excursions with friends, and buy more new cool hardware

Sit in a nice sunny meadow reading a book with several cool drinks.

Quit my job.

Buy a house with a few acres of land and start a huge garden/homestead

If you mean spend my time - gardening in the morning and cooking in the evening. Throw in a nice fat nap in the afternoon.

Buy precious metals, construction materials, a tool chain that takes base materials to finished products and a submarine large enough to contain the above.

Fund socialist advocacy political movements twice as aggressively as the billionaire class are currently doing. Build schools for neuro divergent kids and adults that are free. Create automation that generates food and healthcare resources and give it away for free. The people relax, creating art and science at their leisure while the robots toil in the fields and factories.

i’d finish buying this month’s groceries with the first 200 bucks.

House hunting, applying for my passport, booking a cruise to Japan/Korea, buy8ng computer parts, talking to the local fire department about using my current abode as a training burn, telling HR to shove it, you know, normal Wednesday things.

Paying off credit cards and my car.

Fixing so. Many. Problems.

He he he he he

Go buy my family's house back

A lot. I'd put a down payment on a wedding venue, get my entire apartment re-done (via down payments to the services), I'd pay my landlords off to own this place, I'd buy a lot of weed, design my dream bass, buy two pairs of the nicest headphones and earbuds I could find; Upgrade so much shit. I'd pay full price for a few college courses and certification programs, build a professional home gym.

Man I would immediately start doing everything I'd ever wanted to do if I had the money to do it and of course I would obviously start an LLC of some kind to keep money flowing back to me.

My plan if I ever won the big lottery is to buy a big farm and restaurant and then feed anybody and everybody that comes to the restaurant for free. Yes, even Elon could have a free meal. Every day if he wanted to.

Also, it wouldn't be a cafeteria -- id hire a chef and a kitchen crew and the whole shabang. High-class farm to table yuppie bullshit free to the masses.

So I guess that's what I would do.
