Does anyone know how much a normal person makes in the Elite universe?
2h 5m ago by pawb.social/u/trslim in elitedangerousMy husband and I were wondering how much a normal person, i.e. not a pilot or space traveler, makes. How good or bad are the conditions in the depths of a Coriolis station? Would one courier mission for a normal person make them super wealthy among their peers? Is one credit worth a lot to a lower class person?
Personally I think a survival game on a poorly running or oppressive Coriolis station where the goal was getting a sidewinder and leaving would be a really nice bit of world building and potential for storytelling. It would flesh out a lot of how society functions and maybe give you a better idea of how harsh the Elite universe is.
"The Micro-Credit (mcr) is used for civilian-sized purchases. There are 100 micro-credits to the credit. A micro-credit is about 50 cents in today’s currency. The Unit (u) is small change, with a hundred units to the micro-credit. A Unit is worth a half cent and is generally used only in the child economy or as a rounding fraction to calculate interest. Most adults never consciously use it."
I’m not sure, but that might be mentioned in one of the novels. https://elite-dangerous.fandom.com/wiki/Fiction
