Show us your Pixel photos! 🖼️

2y 11mon ago by lemmy.world/u/AlmightySnoo in googlepixel

We'll keep it in a single sticky thread for now and see how it goes. Please don't forget to indicate which model you used to take the photo! 😁

EDIT: Won't be pushing Pixelfed anymore. As someone in the comments already said, it reduces the quality of your photos. And Lemmy.world isn't a small instance anymore and should handle the photos so we'll ignore the recommendation below, unless of course you don't mind the lossy compression that's being applied :-)

If you want a tiny bit of lossless compression before posting your photos, if you're on Linux you could feed them to jpegoptim.

The following is of course not necessary, but if it's not too complicated for you it might be preferable to host your photos on a Pixelfed instance if they are too large to help lessen the burden on the lemmy.world instance!

Basically, once you upload your image on a Pixelfed instance, you can embed your image here by right-clicking (or long tap if on your phone) on the Pixelfed pic, choosing "copy image link" (or opening it in a new tab and copying the URL if your mobile browser doesn't show this), and then you paste the URL here inside an image tag like this:

Some Pictures from my Pixel 6 Pro. Sometimes, it still struggles to come close to the Pixel 3a with modded GCam and so on, the noise correction isn't necessarily what i prefer on the Pixel 6 Pro...but they are still very good shots, IMHO.

Edit: I just noticed the Picture Quality from Pixelfed is pretty bad. Sorry...

Las Vegas, taken with a Pixel 7A

That's an awesome shot!

Here's a small snippet of photos shot on the Pixel 7 Pro.

What did you use to edit the 4th one?

I chose 0.6x zoom and put my phone directly over my cat's face at an angle. No further edits required.

Oops, I meant photo 3, the one of the woman

I'll start 😁

Photo of Kossuth Lajos Square in Budapest

Kossuth Lajos Square, Budapest. Shot with a Pixel 7a.

Here's my go, I think it (p7) did pretty well:

nice shot!

Pixel 7 Pixel 7, built-in camera app, motion mode long exposure. Taken on the forest psytrance festival "Слияние" on July 13th, techno stage with a smoke machine, backlit by couple of LED thingies and one laser thingie.

the neon lighting gave a cool result, what place is that?

Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Shot on Pixel 7 with some minor editing in Google Photos.

Old Trafford Cricket Stadium, Manchester
P6P, cropped and straightened in Snapseed, no other edits.

Nice! Could be a banner for a cricket community 😉

Another one:

Nice shot! You can embed your image by right-clicking (or long tap if on your phone) on the Pixelfed pic, you choose "copy image link", and then you paste it inside an image tag like this:

Awesome thanks.

I don't see that option anymore to copy link 🤔

Just noticed that on a phone only Firefox allows you to copy the image link directly, on Chrome however you can tap "open image in new tab" and there you will have the link in the address bar of that tab.

Anyway sorry if this is complicated, you're obviously not obliged to do this and this was just a recommendation to avoid hosting lots of images weighing lots of MB on lemmy.world, but you could also host the pics directly on this instance 😁

Here's a few, including visits to the NYC Google Store

These were shot on Pixel 7 Pro

Good ol' Pixel 5
