20d 27m ago in world@quokk.au from www.theguardian.comRemember: we peacefully protested against the Genocide in Gaza and the Palestinians. As we all know, that Genocide still happened anyway. I ask you then, what did peacefully protesting accomplish? It's time to unionize and strike and bring the economy to a standstill and demand that trump put sanctions on israel and even demand justice for the epstein files and the dissolution of ICE which is also against international human rights

26d 14h ago in palestine@lemmy.mlYeah every sanction matters but has little effect when USA is still protecting israel when are americans gonna force trumps hand?
I mean what how will European sanctions matter if America pumps thrice as much money into Israel for example and keeps supporting israel and supporting far right politicians like Orban who veto EU sanctions on israel, and trump immediately tarrifs those countries...
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c202wp2rl09o
'A change in government in Hungary ended months of delays to the EU's plans for further sanctions, which had been blocked by the former right-wing Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orban, a close ally of Israel.'
'Israeli media have reported that the sanctioned individuals and organisations include Daniella Weiss, who is already sanctioned by the UK and is known as the "godmother" of the settler movement.
It is also reported that they include the organisations Nachala and Regavim, movements that promote settlements, as well as HaShomer Yosh and Amana, organisations that help to finance and assist unauthorised settlements known as outposts.
Meir Deutsch, the CEO of Regavim, and Avichai Suissa, the CEO of HaShomer Yosh, are also reportedly on the list. Suissa was sanctioned by the US in 2024, but removed from the sanctions list under Donald Trump.'
