Welsh or C standard library function?
3d 5h ago in programmer_humor@programming.dev from feddit.orgSelf inflicted. Self inflicted! What? The fucking English did it through domination.
Self inflicted.
Of course the English banned it in school look up Welsh not.
The fact that Wales was conquered by England so long ago and the language and culture still exist is a miracle.
Life in your 30s
3d 15h ago in memesI don't think that's odd. People's lives are boring and not much happens, it's interesting to talk about unknowns.
It's like that scene in good will hunting. The best part of my day is when I walk up to the door and imagine you just left.
No ones going to be working soon. Are you going to pivot?

5d 21h ago in historymemes@piefed.social from thelemmy.clubIt be interesting to see if countries/people that won wars and brutally murdered everyone and caused complete demographic alteration has done better or worse long term.
I expect they have done better long term.

That is thought to have massively reduced the number of murders for subsequent generations.
An Israeli company has backdoored hundreds of millions of households through countless Smart TV apps, and they're quietly turning Samsung and LG TVs into exit nodes for AI web-scraping

It's just a matter of time before actual 1984 level prevention of wrong comments and everyone is going to be listened to all the time.
Whether AI grows quickly or slowly it will just add to it. Those with power will control it and it will reinforce their opinions and silence ours.
Wales name massive 48-man summer squad as raft of uncapped players called up
1mon 5d ago in rugby@sh.itjust.works from www.walesonline.co.ukMy worthless opinions
Everytime I see squad or team I think it looks a little better and I'm happier with it.
After years of not having a decent centre pairing and happy with Hawkins and James. But now we got two more young lumps coming through as Hennessey and Bradley. So that should make the centre solid in the future.
I have no idea at all what coaches see in Ben Thomas at international. He just doesn't work there. Maybe he's there as he knows the system and for training? God knows.
Angus O'Brian robbed. Blaire Murray is fun but he's not the answer. LRZ is a wild card and I don't mind trying out his high ceiling at fullback. But could do with someone who can steady the ship, especially with a good kicking game.
Dario Amodei spent last year warning of an AI white-collar bloodbath. Now he's changing the narrative
1mon 12d ago in technology from fortune.comWell I had to build a table in google sheets yesterday and I didn't have all the buttons because it was on andriod. I just got chatgpt to do it and it nailed it in one go. Also sorted out my CV and cover letters.
More of that is good.
Economic downturn from oil yes.
But if chatgpt stopped existing now do you think that was cause a recession? I don't see it. Its hype but the rest of the economy moves forward.
The oil through, that's another factor all together. We are fucked!
Most could work on anyone really
1mon 12d ago in lemmyshitpostI mean yea.
But we need to accept life is harder for short guys. If you just want to get laid, harder. If you want a promotion, harder. If you want to be treated nicer, harder.
All those things you said help and are good. But not not pretend hightism doesn't exist.
