IT BELONGS IN THE BRITISH MUSEUM

The Pyramids are too big to come to Britain, so Britain came to Egypt.

Thanks for the compliment

You are invited to join in one of the government-sponsored parties. You know that from time to time, they invite certain entities of note for networking opportunities

The noise, the lighting, and the smell of the sumptuous food delight your senses. They are generous and lavish, but not excessively so. There's a single exception to that: the tapestries along the main hall's walls. No expense was spared to imbibe every last detail on them. It was like the pride and legacy of your nation was on the line.

Near the center are lines of tables. Some of the guests were already with their meals with the occasional break for chitchat. On a further area of the hall, you can see pairs and pairs of people engrossed in their dances. You turn once again to the tapestries...

"Oh hello, sir, you seem interested on our tapestries. Indulge yourself, for these tell the story of our enduring monarchy," the servant said.

You nod, then walk closer to the first one you want to further scrutinize.

That has to be intentional, isn't it? It's the one closest to the dinner tables. Before you depicts a melee from a more brutal age, but the backdrop... is an older version of this very room.

It's murder on the dancefloor

You walk along this long tapestry. As your eyes follow the characters wielding their blades in deadly duel, you also hear, at the same time, dinnerware clashing. Forks clang against knives. Spoons fall to the floor with a large ring. And at the exact moment you focus on scene of dying man tumbling to a vase, you hear a plate from the tables behind you break.

But you better not kill the groove, hey-hey, hey-hey

But you continued along the way. More scenes of violence and blood, made more realistic with the cutlery hitting one another.

It's murder on the dancefloor

You begin to notice a pattern in the historical depiction. The ones in blue began to dwindle as their opponents in red mimic the poses of the 'blues'.

But you better not steal the moves

You walk some more. As if on cue, the less 'blues' you see standing, the sounds of the utensils become quieter and quieter, until it was completely gone.

You reach the end, the victorious 'reds', representing this glorious nation, raise their blades. Then you look behind, the guests who were eating stood, their dinner knives also raised in a similar fashion. You know this ritual: the host(s) of the party has called for the main round of entertainment. The main dances of the party are about to begin.

DJ, gonna burn this goddamn house right down.
