Im not sure what anthropic has control over, but wow do they have a marketing team that is just crushing it.

They could have just released a new version but no, they convinced everyone this was the opening scenes of The Terminator and only they were the responsible ones.

Also, their resistance to the military (performative or not) is likely earning a lot of points with software devs that I assume largely want nothing to do with the war machine.

We have seen big tech with morals before, we know where this is going.

Its cool they are trying it. Hopefully it works well. I find it odd that any salary income over 36k is taxed more harshly than income from any passive investments. Feels like it prevents people from owning investments if they don't have any already.... but i don't have the whole picture

Happy cake day!

Unsurprisingly, that doesn't seem to be true, but also the studies seem to arrive at pretty different numbers about how much worse it is.

Some authors, such as Neto et al. (2013), show that the distribution of wine has a relatively small impact of 1.9% (0.05 kg CO2e/bottle of 750 ml) relative to the viticulture and wine bottling stages in the supply chain. Others, such as Bonamente et al. (2016), estimate the distribution of bottled wine to represent approximately 41.1% of the total life cycle emissions of wine at consumption.

Yeah it makes it a bit if a creative writing exercise.

All good. Thanks for being a part of the community!

Hello, thanks for posting to showerthoughts. This post got reported for rule 2.

The rough idea of rule 2 is that a good shower thought is simple, so it should fit in the title. Its tempting to write a catchy title that is more line a newspaper headline, but that's not the idea of rule 2.

Mind updating the title?

Makes infinitely more sense than in space.
