Why don't all mammal babies have egg teeth? All of them come from eggs.

Mammal noses were once 'egg teeth', but for some reason mammal eggs lost their hard shells, and the noses (scientific name: 'schnozzolae') were re-purposed for the olfactory sense.

Echidnas do.

Not sure about other Monotremes.
