Developers, housing advocates and environmentalists celebrate new North Carolina bill banning parking minimums
2h 24m ago in upliftingnews from www.whqr.orgYup relatable situation. I lived briefly in a car dependent city, lacking parking requirements and yep. Lots of townhouses, with lots of cars, and no where to put them. Loved parking blocks away after a long night at work. Quick trip to the store? 15 minute walk to the car, 20 minute drive into city center, 15 minutes to find paid parking garage and then another hike to the store's door.
It's nightmare stuff. Lawmakers need to embrace and fund proper alternative transportation first - then they can work on minimizing parking.
I'm not sure how this uplifting? Without adequate public transit, or at least massively improved walkability it will cause private lots will charge more and just make it harder to get places including your home.
I'm sure property developers are thrilled though. I can understand that perspective. They're gonna save so much money flooding the neighborhoods with street parking.

Warrior, rogue or mage, why?
1d 4h ago in asklemmyJust wanted to comment on your cyberpunk observations, netrunner is a great time but like the most fun I had in that game was gorilla arms on a body/reflex build with berserk. By end game you're just walking through buildings, tanking shots, punching heads off. feels absolutely unstoppable.
Netrunner was cool but I always felt I had to play more careful and clever. Yes they can hack a camera and remotely clear a room, but I fricking loved being the hulk.
Mage, but only glass cannon builds. Any flesh shields warriors lfg?

1d 5h ago in eternalplaylist@crazypeople.online from song.linkIts basically "Doomscrolling: The Music Video", for sure. For what it's worth that head explosion is from the 80s movie Scanners, nothing real about that clip. The bombing footage contrasting with dancing politicians got me triggered though.
I'd like to ID where the weird human cake thing came from. That stuff is weird.
Several Xbox studios, including Compulsion, Ninja Theory and Double Fine, are negotiating with Xbox as they try to avoid closure. Some or all could spin off.
2d 3h ago in games from www.bloomberg.comI hardly even count those, both were in development way before MS scooped up the studios. Looking back most games they've released were either previously announced by the studio, or at least deep in development.
Indiana Jones, HiFi Rush and Avowed come to mind as games likely developed under MS by acquired studios, but not too much else. It's a shame to see.
They gotta be good at making games for that to work... They collected top AAA studios like infinity stones but can't figure out how to put them together.
