You have to get through the first three arcs before it really gets going though.
One Piece in a nutshell. I struggled so hard up until the end of Alabasta, then it slowly starts to pick up the pace and become really good.

I, too, have seen HunterXHunter
All the arcs are good, but Chimera Ant is on a whole other level.
